Estimate the voice-time component
At the October 2026 launch, xAI listed Grok Voice 3.0 at $0.08 per minute, equivalent to $4.80 per hour. The calculator below estimates that voice-time component. It is not a checkout quote or the price of this website.
A ten-minute session at that rate has a voice-time estimate of $0.80. One hundred such sessions would be $80 before any other charges. Check the official pricing documentation for the exact billable events, text inputs, additional services, taxes, and future changes.
Keep three prices separate
- Provider API cost: the amount charged to the developer for upstream use.
- Consumer app subscription: access sold by a provider’s own application; it does not automatically include API credits.
- Your product’s price: the amount you charge for a useful workflow, including infrastructure, support, failed-job handling, and margin.
Do not compare a character-priced narration endpoint with a minute-priced conversation simply by converting units. Their billing rules and user value differ.
Model a realistic usage budget
Estimate active users, sessions per user, and typical session duration. Use a median case and a high-usage case. Include abandoned sessions and reconnects; a short visible answer does not necessarily mean the connection was short.
For a new application, start with a small per-session allowance and a project-wide daily ceiling. A generous per-user limit still leaves your account exposed if many users arrive at once. Enforce both on the server before issuing credentials or submitting jobs.
Measure before setting paid plans
Instrument accepted session starts, successful completions, elapsed billable time, and failed or duplicate requests. Reconcile those records with the provider’s usage report. Keep estimated and invoiced costs separate.
The homepage preview is a way to explore the voice workflow. It is not a promise of unlimited upstream API use. Before launching a paid offering, verify the provider route, usage meter, duplicate protection, and failure/refund behavior with real requests.
